1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
I started taking medication regularly.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember them so chances are I didn't keep them.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Someone I know online, someone I knew from work and someone I knew from high school. No one close to me, though.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
I don't think so... but 2009 was the year of death, right?
5. What countries did you visit?
apart from the country in which I live, I went to the States.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
I had a serious lack of $$ and doing new things.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 7th. and Sept 5, because that was when I REALLY knew I had to stop drinking.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
passing my classes, and quitting Stikeman.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I had a pretty epic fail keeping my hands off someone's boyfriend... but that is also the failure of the other person involved. And according to aforementioned guy, it is also his girlfriend's fault. I pick winners, eh.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Found out I'm mildly allergic to cats and shrimp. Did not have any reactions, or die. I had a cold when I started work.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
new cookie sheets. and avocados.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
no one in particular; everyone was on par.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
well, my own and the abovementioned guy. Oh and Scott - especially Scott.
14. Where did most of your money go?
housing, food
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I don't remember getting that excited about anything.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
effing Michael Jackson.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or hardened?: the same, probably a bit hardened
ii. thinner or fatter?: about 10 lbs thinner
iii. richer or poorer?: i guess about the same. technically poorer because of school loans.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
well it's a tie between fun and saving money, which directly oppose eachother
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
spending time with worthless people
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
i spent it at my sister's house with my family; new years i will be doing nothing.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
ahaha, no
23. How many one-night stands?
2 (with the same person, which I guess makes it not a one-night stand).
24. What was your favorite TV program?
True Blood
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
no, I think everything is pretty on par here. I like someone a lot less right now, and i'm putting the kibosh on our "friendship" but I don't hate them.
26. What was the best book/fanfic you read?
I enjoyed Philippa Gregory, and the Monk (I had to read it for school)
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
i'm not really sure. probably kings of leon.
28. What did you want and get?
a kettle and a crockpot, new cookie sheets, new jeans, new sneakers
29. What did you want and not get?
a significant other lol
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I didn't see a lot of films this year. I think Sherlock Holmes is up there, and I enjoyed Law-Abiding Citizen until the ending. I Love You, Man, was pretty fun. Can't remember what else I saw this year.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 27, and I had a "party" at Erin's house. It was around this time that I discovered that thanks to my medication, alcohol makes me sick, and I threw up in Rosanne's car after 2 beers and 2 glasses of sangria (which used to be nothing for me).
32. What's one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I wish I had more money, much like everyone else. Also, more free time to focus on school and relaxing.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
jeans and comfy shirts. same as always.
34. What kept you sane?
the fact I couldn't drink.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Paul Rudd, and my new crush, Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don't really care for politics, but the US health reforms. And also, it would be awesome to get all our (Canada and US) troops out of the war, but that's a whole other story.
37. Who did you miss?
Kim when she left for away-school. my family
38. Who was the best new person you met?
sadly I don't think I met any new people, except at work... So I will go with Nathaniel, my new cubicle-mate.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
not so much something that is pertinent to my life right now, but in general... don't do anything you would be embarassed about if it went public. |
